Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947, Hubbell is best remembered for his remarkable performance in the 1934 All-Star game when he struck out five consecutive future Hall-of-Famers: Joe Cronin, Al Simmons, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx.
